Sea turtles are renowned for being one of the oldest animals living today and can be found all around the world. While the actual documentation of their age is difficult, it is well known that sea turtles live a long time and have similar lifespans to humans. Let’s look at the passage below describing the life cycle of sea turtles.
⦁ Sea turtles lay 100 to 150 eggs in small holes they dig on the beach above the high tide line.
⦁ After 45-60 days, hatchlings are born.
⦁ Hatchlings make their way from land to sea. Many do not make it and are eaten by predators.
⦁ Out at sea, hatchlings grow into young turtles, taking 10-20 years to mature.
