W: “Should old acquaintance be forgot, / and never brought to mind? / Should old acquaintance be forgot, / and auld lang syne ♬ (Music “Auld Lang Syne”)” The song most commonly sung on New Year’s Eve globally is “Auld Lang Syne,” a traditional tune used to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.
